This Security Policy explains how MyCVHub protects user data and ensures a secure platform for job seekers and employers.
Introduction
MyCVHub is committed to safeguarding the personal information of all users. We implement strong security measures to maintain a secure, reliable, and trustworthy environment for candidates and employers using our platform.
How We Protect Your Data
- Encrypted Connections: All communication between your device and our servers is encrypted using SSL/TLS technology to protect data in transit.
- Secure Data Storage: Personal information is stored using secure, modern industry practices to prevent unauthorised access.
- Strict Access Control: Only authorised MyCVHub personnel with legitimate operational reasons can access limited user data.
- Regular Security Audits: We continuously review our systems, perform vulnerability assessments, and update our infrastructure to address emerging threats.
- Data Minimisation: We collect only the essential information required for platform functionality, search and job matching services.
How Employers Access Candidate Information
MyCVHub is a free CV Database and Job Portal in South Africa designed to reduce unemployment by making recruitment simple and accessible. To protect candidates:
- Only verified and legitimate businesses in South Africa can access the CV database.
- Employers undergo a validation process before gaining access to candidate profiles and CVs.
- Suspicious or fraudulent employer accounts are reviewed and removed immediately.
Fake Accounts
While we do take measures to prevent and stop fake accounts, MyCVHub cannot guarantee that all accounts are genuine. Therefore we encourage users to report any suspicious activity or profiles to help us maintain a safe community.
- You can report suspicious activity or fake accounts using the Report Button which is in the candidate's public profile.
- You can also report suspicious activity or fake accounts by mail support@mycvhub.co.za, or through our contact form.
User Responsibilities
Security is a shared responsibility. To help keep your account safe, we encourage users to:
- Use Strong Passwords: Create unique, strong passwords and avoid reusing them across multiple platforms.
- Monitor Your Account: Report any suspicious activity to us immediately, we always take full action as required.
- Beware of Phishing: MyCVHub will never ask for your password via email. Avoid clicking unknown or suspicious links.
- Disclaimer: MyCVHub is not the 'employer' and does not guarantee job offers or employment but provides a platform for job seekers and employers to connect without cost barriers.
- Beware of Job Scams: No legitimate employer will ever ask you to pay them for any reason when getting a job. Report any suspicious job offers.
Data Breach Response
While we implement strong safeguards, in the unlikely event of a data breach:
- We will immediately investigate the incident.
- We will notify affected users as required by South African data protection laws.
- We will take corrective steps to prevent future occurrences.
